The Thinker
Evolution, creation or somewhere in between?
The universe evolved, but God put life on earth.
God is behind the existence of the universe: how he did it, creation, Evolution … doesn’t really matter to me.
God created everything, including evolution.
Evolution is created by God.
Microevolution is almost certain, the evidence for macroevolution is less well-founded but support for it need not exclude an origin in creation.
Scientific facts have shown that evolution does occur and will continue. The lack of a scientific basis for the creation of man and all the beasts of the world does not persuade me to think that an all powerful Being created this world, when the evidence around us indicates otherwise.
To believe solely in evolution is not to have no faith but instead is to have faith in no God.
Creation is a myth, created (possibly with divine inspiration) to satisfy human kind’s insatiable desire to explain things. Although we now know better, it’s a nice story — asking us to respect and nurture the environment.
Bombadier beetles — need I say more?
Does it matter? I believe in a creator God and don’t particularly care whether He chose to create in 6 days or via evolution over millions of years. But I do know that it takes more faith to believe it all happened by random chance than to believe God made it!
Quoting a line from the musical The King and I … “The creation of the universe was the same miracle whether it took place in 7 days or over many, many centuries.” However, I personally find it difficult to grasp that it happened in seven days — evolution sounds more like it to me. It still had to start somewhere and God was behind it whenever and however it happened!
Put it this way, if Evolution was in the Bible would there still be the same wackos supporting Creationism?
