- Peter — one of the disciples — for his ability to stuff things up in an unprecedented way and yet be so powerfully used by God. If God still thought he was worth it then I’ve got a chance.
- Probably the bad who wrote Ecclesiastes, due to their positive and inspiring outlook on life.
- Elijah as he could hear the small voice of God amidst the turmoil
- In terms of the message he preached I think Paul is pretty cool — I’ve never found so many excellent pieces of advice on hoe to live God’s Way.
- I presume you mean apart from Jesus?!
- Peter is one of the most inspiring people in the Bible because he wasn’t always fully sure/aware of what was going on and he had human failings, yet he was also one of Jesus’ chosen disciples.
- David because he messes it up seriously many times but has the humility to go back to God for continual forgiveness. David’s patience with Saul, respecting the fact that Saul is God’s anointed, despite his cruelty is extremely inspiring especially when it’s hard to WHOLLY trust God.
- Abraham was an amazing guy. He waited years for the fulfilment of God’s promise in apparently impossible circumstances, and then was prepared to sacrifice the son he has waited so long for through love and obedience. What an honour to be the man who foreshadows what God will do!
- Nehemiah!
- Peter, coz he was a bit of a prat like me but still turned out alright in the end.
- St. Paul because he invented Christianity … ?
- Job, for withstanding his suffering and having the courage to challenge God.
